Bjork Will Not Be At Vivid LIVE 2012

Reports yesterday of the possibility of us seeing Icelandic songstress Björk over our way for the Vivid LIVE 2012 have been squashed. TMN spoke to Festival director Fergus Linehan this morning, who says that it isn’t happening.

“On this occasion, as you can see from her schedule, there are no plans for Bjork to perform at Sydney Opera House in 2012, needless to say, we’d love to welcome her back at some stage in the future.”

Yesterday it was pointed out that a Google AdWords campaign was discovered with keywords pointing to the Vivid LIVE website, which has since been removed.

This year will see an end to the celebrity curator. Previous years have seen the likes of Brian Eno, Lou Reed/Laurie Anderson and Steven Pavlovic curate the festival.

This year Linehan will put the line-up together; he will be “cultivating artist-driven projects including unique collaborations, one-off projects and special events that take over all the venues and spaces of the House, including the iconic Lighting the Sails.”
