Peter Hook & the Light Australian Tour 2012 Postponed

Former Joy Division and New Order bass player Peter Hook and his group The Light have cancelled their Australian tour dates due to circumstances beyond the group’s control.

They plan to reschedule the tour for late 2012 or early 2013. Ticket refunds will be available from all ticketing outlets.

Hooky’s former bandmates from New Order were out here recently on the Future Music Festival 2012 line-up, depsite his efforts to go forward with motions to sue them for using the group’s name. Hook feels that the band shouldn’t be using the name while he isn’t apart of the band.

The official statement is as follows:

Peter Hook & The Light have unfortunately been forced to postpone their upcoming dates across Australia and New Zealand in April 2012 due to production circumstances which were beyond the band’s control.

Hooky & The Light would like to apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment of the thousands of fans who had purchased tickets in advance for their second visit to the continent and we are hopeful that the dates are to be rescheduled for late 2012 or early 2013.

The band would like to thank all our Antipodean friends for their continued support and we look forward to having the opportunity to play for you again soon.

Peter Hook & The Light.
