The Splendour In The Grass 2012 lineup announcement is only a few weeks away, which means the leaks are starting to flow. Now American rapper Azealia Banks may have let slip that she’ll be appearing at the festival, which comes as a shock to everyone as she hasn’t appeared on any of the rumour lists as yet. Taking to Twitter yesterday, Banks wrote “Australia In July” (see below). The tweet has since been removed, which has heightened speculation that she will in fact be in Australia for Splendour.
Pedestrian.TV has pointed out that there is a big gap in her touring calendar from July 8th to August 9th.
Azealia Banks topped NME’s ‘Cool List’ in November 2011, making her one of the most highly sort after touring acts on the market for 2012.
Other artists tipped to play Splendour 2012 include Jack White, Bloc Party, The Shins, Sleigh Bells, Lana Del Rey and the already confirmed Zulu Winter.
