The Bamboos Australian Tour 2012

Melbourne-based soul/funksters The Bamboos have announced a national tour on the eve of the release of their fifth album, Medicine Man.

The tour is the group’s first local tour since 2010 and will feature a series of special guests joining The Bamboos at each show – with details to be announced closer to the dates.

Medicine Man was crafted by frontman Lance Ferguson and a series of collaborators, including You Am I’s Tim Rogers; Washington; Daniel Merriweather; Bamboos’ regular Kylie Auldist; Aloe Blacc; Bobby Flynn; and the band’s newest member, Ella Thompson.

The first single from the album – I Got Burned (featuring Tim Rogers) entered the ARIA Australian Singles chart at no.19 and has been receiving plenty of airplay on radio across the country. The band and Rogers also recently performed the song on ABC TV’s Adam Hills In Gordon St Tonight.

The Bamboos’ shows are promising to feature plenty of tracks from Medicine Man, as well as past favourites from their previous releases 4, Step It Up, Rawville and The Side Stepper.

Tickets for all shows go on sale Wednesday, April 25 – except for Coolum, which goes on sale this Tuesday, April 17.
