New Order’s 18-Minute Ian Curtis Tribute ‘Elegia’ Released Online

New Order‘s 18-minute tribute to former Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis – Elegia – has surfaced online, NME reports.

The band had previously released a five-minute version of the song on their 1985 album Low-Life.

However, according to Pitchfork, the full rendition of the track has made its way onto 12″ vinyl and is available to order now via Dope Jams.

The vinyl release will also feature two other tracks: 5-8-6, which featured on the band’s album Power, Corruption And Lies, and The Him, another track written as a tribute to Curtis.

Curtis committed suicide two months before the release of Joy Division’s second album Closer in 1980.

The band’s remaining members Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris then renamed themselves New Order, and later added Morris’s girlfriend, Gillian Gilbert, to the band’s lineup.
