Watch: Guns N Roses Play Without Axl At Hall Of Fame Induction

Although Axl Rose couldn’t be there due to a pre-arranged date with his ego, the Guns N Roses induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame seemed to go off without a hitch, including a well-rehearsed performance with the majority of the original lineup.

The original members of the lineup who appeared at the induction were: Slash; Duff McKagan; and Steven Adler, who were joined by Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke when accepting the award. The 5 members were later joined by singer Myles Kennedy when the band took the stage to perfom the Guns N Roses hits Mr. Brownstone, Sweet Child O’ Mine, and Paradise City. Reports emerging from the induction portray the acceptance speech from the band as quite dry, with the crowd booing Axl Rose in his absence when Green Day asked the members present “who’s missing?”.

It seems that Soundwave Festival gave us all a sign when Slash appeared onstage with Alter Bridge at the festival. Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedys returned the favour at the Hall of Fame induction and became the lead singer of Gun’s N Roses for one night. Video footage of the performances are available below. Pro-Shot footage of the set will be aired on America’s HBO on May 5th, and hopefully will end up on YouTube somewhere. Also inducted into the Hall of Fame were the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the Beastie Boys.
