Tupac’s Mum ‘Thrilled’ By Coachella Hologram

Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, has spoken to TMZ about her late son’s eerily real-life hologram performance at Coachella yesterday, claiming that she was “Positively Thrilled” to see it. Normally very protective of her son’s legacy, she gave Dr. Dre permission to re-animate him for the show with Snoop Dogg.

Afeni did not attend the festival, but watched it via the live stream on the Internet. Dre has since made a generous donation to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation in good faith.

Originally Nate Dogg was planned to appear, but was pulled at the last minute. However, despite that, the performance will still go down as one of the most spoken about Coachella performances ever, also featuring appearances from Eminem, 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa.

It’s reported that it cost between $100,000 and $400,000 (US) and four months of planning to bring him back to life; created by Digital Domain, who have previously worked on films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, TRON: Legacy and X-Men: First Class.
