Canberra’s Greenroom Closes Its Doors For Good

In an article posted by the The Sydney Morning Herald, punters have taken to Facebook to publicly display their disapproval over the Woden Tradies Club permanent closure of the Greenroom.

The decision comes from club management who claimed via a spokesperson that, after trialling the Greenroom as a live music venue for a month, it was decided that it would not be commercially viable to continue on. The statement may have come as a surprise considering that management had recently approved renovations so as to allow the Greenroom to operate on a regular and permanent basis.

The Greenroom’s Facebook page is littered with the outrage of live music fans that were excited about the potential of attracting local and big name acts.

Posting on its own wall, the Greenroom’s management made the following statement:

“It is with the utmost anguish that I make the following announcement… This morning, 3 weeks into the build of the new Greenroom, the Tradies have decided to cancel our agreement and terminate the soon-to-be new Greenroom. Nice work! To say that I am annoyed and frustrated right now is a fucking understatement…”

Karnivool was booked to play the Greenroom in June, but now the show has been cancelled.
