Watch: The Hives ‘Go Right Ahead’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live

The Hives are gearing up to release their first album in 5 years, making their first promotional TV appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the US yesterday (watch below). They performed their new Go Right Ahead, which is the first track to appear off their new album Lex Hives.

Lex Hives will be released on June 5 and will feature 11 tracks. The band funded, recorded and produced the album themselves, claiming that it was a quicker process than working with people who are bust 24/7, 365 days a year. As frontman Pelle Almqvist told the Los Angeles Times recently:

“Rather than squeeze in some studio time, we could go into the studio whenever we wanted. It turns out that having five producers who have an equal say of everything isn’t that fast. You’d think we could have guessed that in advance.”

Go Right Ahead was released on the weekend as a special 7″ Record Store Day release.
