Watch: The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins Crowd Surfs In Melbourne

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins is clearly back to his old tricks as the band continues to tear their way through Australia on their current tour.

At their first Melbourne show at the Palace Theatre last night, Hawkins rounded off the band’s smashing performance by doing an epic crowd surf during their equally-as-epic closer, Love On The Rocks With No Ice.

Hawkins jumped onto a roadie’s shoulders and made his way across to the other end of the dancefloor, all the while belting out solos and saluting fans.

The victory lap was a regular staple of The Darkness’ old live shows. When I saw them at the old Palace nightclub in St. Kilda in 2006, Hawkins did a similar sequence during the last song on that particular night, Bald.
