Jay-Z To Curate And Headline ‘Made In America’ Festival

What do you give the man who has everything? – a two-day music festival, that’s what.

Just when you thought hip hop godfather Jay-Z had reached cruising altitude, it becomes all too clear that he’s nowhere near finished. It was announced recently that Jay will be headlining the inaugural ‘Made in America’ festival, as well as curating the event.

According to the New York Times,  Budweiser will sponsor the two-day event that will bring as many as 28 musical acts to Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2. No word has come back in regards to the lineup, though apparently Jay-Z and Mayor Michael A. Nutter of Philadelphia will be personally seeing to the bill and have promised a mix of “rock, hip hop, R&B, Latin and dance”. When you have Kanye West hanging around you like a bad smell as well as one of the most popular female artists ever as your baby’s mother, I’m sure they won’t have a hard time finding talent.

Jay and the Mayor (imagine that collaboration) will be announcing the line-up at a press conference the morning of Monday 14, their time.

Made in America is set to have three stages and will be produced by Live Nation. Part of the ticket proceeds will be donated to local not-for-profit organisations through United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
