Will.i.am To Score Tune For Future Mission To Mars

In what appears to be an attempt to stay relavent, N.A.S.A has approached Will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas fame to produce a track specially for a future mission to mars.

The track will be beamed from outer space directly to Mission Control, where it will be heard by the public for the first time. What may seem like a bizarre collaboration has actually been in effect for a little while now, with Will.i.am featuring on a NASA TV ad campaign. According to a NASA Press Release, the music producer talks “about how some of the agency’s outstanding accomplishments in space are used to improve our life on Earth” in a new public service announcement made available Wednesday on NASA Television and the agency’s website.

A source has told The Sun UK that “Will has a natural affiliation with NASA and even namechecked them on his single ‘T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)’. He’s always keen to get involved in their projects and this was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down”.

However sparse the reference may be in his single T.H.E, literally being: “I’m way out like NASA I’m way over here I done past ya I get stacks of cash, you get cashews, I go hard, statues”, NASA appear to be totally wrapped about the partnership, being of the persuasion that “Will is the ideal figure to appeal to a mainstream audience and promote their technologies”.

The yet-to-be named track is most likely going to end up as a bonus track on Will.i.am’s new album #Willpower (That’s right, he named his album after himself) and has gained a great deal of media attention as it is believed this is the first deal of its type. Production is set to begin once Will’s commitments to The Voice UK are finalised.
