“You know what time it is? Tenacious D time, you motherfucker… Fuck Yeah!”
The Mighty D have been working overtime in the build-up to the release of their third record Rize of the Fenix,, which comes out tomorrow!
So far Jack Black and Kyle Gass have released a hilarious video titled To Be The Best, which shows a fictional account of the duo reforming to write the new record; (Val Kilmer gets shot in the clip, pure genius).
Music videos have also been released for the title track Rize of the Fenix, which is a green screen epic, and Roadie, which features comic actor Danny McBride as Sebastian, an unstable Roadie dedicated to putting on a great show.
In the latest D news JB and KG have played their song dedicated to the unsung heroes of live music on David Letterman.
The performance does see a slightly toned-down version of Roadie, however, with all cursing removed and the lyric – “Then a beautiful girl come to me she says, ‘hey can I suckka your dick’. I say yes, I am in love. Then she quickly said, ‘I sucked your dick, now gimme that backstage pass’. I do not want you roadie, I want K.G’s chode” – changed to – “Then a beautiful girl come to me she says, ‘hey can I nipple your nips’. I say yes, I am in love. Then she quickly said, ‘I nipped your nips, now gimme that backstage pass’. I do not want you roadie, I want to take K.G home”.
