Watch: Rufus Wainwright ‘Out of the Game On’ Live On Conan

Rufus Wainwright performed his new single Out of the Game on Conan over the weekend, taken from his latest studio album of the same name. He performs the song with his full eight-piece backing band, while he stands up the front delivering his Baroque pop vocals and acoustic guitar sound.

The new album Out of the Game is Wainwright’s seventh album and was produced by none other than Mark Ronson, who claims that this is: “the most pop album [Wainwright] ever made”. Ronson also calls the album some of the best work he’s ever produced. Wainwright and Ronson began recording the album in New York in May 2011, and it includes appearances from his sister Martha Wainwright, Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, members of the Dap-Kings, Sean Lennon, Wilco, Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ guitarist Nick Zinner.
