Listen: New Beck Single ‘I Just Started Hating Some People Today’ + B-Side To Be Released On Third Man

Beck will be the latest artist to make his Third Man Records debut at the end of this month when he will release a new single and B-side record via the label’s Blue Series. The vinyl and digital versions will be available from May 28. You can listen to both the tracks right now on the Third Man Records website.

The single, named I Just Started Hating Some People Today and its companion B-side, Blue Randy, were both recorded spontaneously at the end of 2011 while Beck was in Nashville working on his long-anticipated new album.

An extremely limited run of 100 Tri Color 7-inches will be available at Randy’s Records at 157 East 900 South in Salt Lake City (http://www.randysrecords.com). An even scarcer scattering of 50 Tri Colors will be randomly inserted in mail orders for the single placed with Third Man.

Another Beck song named Looking For A Sign was released online a few months ago, written for the soundtrack to the movie Jeff Who Lives At Home. Besides that release, we’ve barely had any new material from him since his 2008 album Modern Guilt.

There is no word on when Beck will release his new album. He played a recent show in Los Angeles where it was reported that he did not try out any of his new material. He’ll be playing at Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington in a few days time, so maybe something might come out of that.
