Black Veil Brides New Album To Be “Social Distortion Meets Metallica.”

Hollywood’s Black Veil Brides have had many labels attached to them such as screamo, emo, metalcore, and post-hardcore. All are somewhat right, but punk? you wouldn’t think so. Though according to the band, that’s the very direction their new album is going to take them.

Talking to NME, frontman Andy Biersack unveiled details of the follow-up to 2011’s World’s on Fire, explaining: “We’ve got three songs tracked. We’ve set ourselves a deadline of the end of August to finish it. We’ve got 20 to 25 songs written and we’re narrowing it down now. John Feldmann [Goldfinger] is producing it. It’s going to be more of a punk rock record than anything we’ve done before. It’s social distortion meets metallica.”

So, in one fell swoop they’ve risked upsetting the punk and metal communities, but hold off on your judgment just yet, teaming up with Feldmann could see this concept not only come to fruition, but also be awesome. The band was recently in town for Soundwave and talked shop with Music Feeds.

Chatting with NME, Biersack also commented on the band’s rising status in the scene: “Our career trajectory has been like a rocket. We came here for pennies last year when we didn’t even have a record out. We only played because Download and Andy Copping believed in us.”

What are your thoughts? Could this be the shot in the arm punk needs? Or tell ’em they’re dreaming?
