Papa Roach Confirm New Album

Word on what will mark album number six for rap metal turn metal rockers Papa Roach has spread like wildfire after the band confirmed the project was underway during a global online chat with fans.

Though not much other than the confirmation was said, the members present for the chat did say that it was recorded in their hometown studio The Red House in Sacramento, CA. For the album they enlisted the wisdom of rock legend James Michael (SIXX: A.M., HALESTORM).

Of the album, frontman Jacoby Shaddix has said: “We wanted to make a dynamic and explosive record that captures the raw emotions of life. We also wanted to incorporate the biological sounds of rock with a digital edge to have a fresh sound. This is our own version of what we think the radio should sound like. This is the soundtrack to my life, and once again I went through some dark shit and came through thanks to the music,” according to Blabbermouth

This is the first time we’ve heard from the Last Resort performers since 2009’s Metamorphosis and 2010’s Time for Annihilation: On the Record & On the Road, which featured some new material that seemed to have reached the limit of the band, but as Shaddix states, the band has “topped ourselves again” with the new album.

Papa Roach will be hitting the road through America on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour shortly, giving fans a chance to hear the new tunes, and are a hot favourite for Soundwave 2013. Now given this news, I’d say those chances are even higher.
