The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Announce One-Off Sydney Show

Huge news today for all you ska fans with skacore pioneering Boston 8-piece The Mighty Mighty Bosstones announcing that they will be importing their own unique brass-infused brand of punk rock to Australian shores for the first time since 1998.

After 25 years in active duty, The Bosstones haven’t just left an imprint on fans all over the world, but also on music as a whole, being one of the first bands to fuse ska with hardcore and pulling it off. Their first big single down under Let’s Face It paved the way for the follow-up track The Impression That I Get, which blew doors open for the band all over the world and fast became an anthem of the era.

You could list dozens of adjectives to describe their live performance, but they all basically point to it being an totally incredible experience, mentally and physically fulfilling. Their sound shifts from circle pit-inducing hardcore to galloping reggae backbeats and vice versa, all wrapped up in the whisky-soaked raspy vocals of frontman, Dicky Barrett. But reading about it isn’t the same as listening to it, and listening to it isn’t the same as witnessing it live, which we finally have the opportunity to do. Everyone who caught their set at Warped Tour Australia in 1998 will be jumping at the opportunity to experience it again, and those who didn’t have spent the past 12 years waiting to.

The one-off-show will be at Sydney’s Metro theatre, which has a capacity of around 1,000. This is going to sell out quick! You don’t want to be the people who miss out.
