Ozzy & Sharon Comment On Jack’s MS Diagnosis

Earlier this month it was revealed to the world that son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Jack, has been diagnosed with the debilitating life-long condition Multiple sclerosis (MS). Now in a recent interview, Ozzy and wife/manager Sharon have opened up, voicing their thoughts on the devastating news.

It’s common knowledge how close the family are. The 59-year-old Sharon Osbourne broke down during an interview on The Talk after hearing of the heartbreaking news. Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Sharon is obviously struggling with the concept, going as far as to blame herself, stating: “I keep thinking, ‘What did I do wrong? What did I eat or drink when I was pregnant?'” Sharon, 59, said. “I feel like it’s somehow my fault.”

The 63-year-old Ozzy has also expressed anger at the revelation, struggling to understand why his son has fallen victim to the chronic disease of the central nervous system: “If it was me, you’d think: ‘Ozzy had a reputation and it caught up with him'”, the Black Sabbath frontman said. “But Jack is such a good guy.”

At 26, Jack falls well short of the average age of diagnosis, 37. The news came only 2 weeks after the birth of his daughter Pearl Clementine and has hit the one-time reality TV star hard, telling People Magazine: “I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, ‘Why now?’…I’ve got a family and that’s what’s supposed to be the most important thing.”

Perhaps adding to the fear of the condition are the vast uncertainties that come with it. Symptoms vary from person to person and may be mild, that is, numbness of certain limbs, or more severe such as total lack of mobility, and of course everything in-between. There is, however, always the chance that Osbourne will be able to live a full and happy life with his young daughter and wife, actress Lisa Stelly.
