Jessie J Sued Over Copyright Infringement

Jessie J is the latest in a string of pop stars to be busted by copyright laws. The performer has allegedly used stolen material in her track Domino, prompting the original writer to take action.

Singer Will Loomis believes that his song Bright Red Chords, written back in 2008, was ripped off to make Jessie J’s chart-topping hit. According to Billboard.com, it wasn’t small sections either, but large chunks.

Loomis’s lawyer has placed J and her record label in the firing line, stating that: “Mr. Loomis never consented to the use of his song, and we look forward to obtaining an appropriate remedy from the court for this clear infringement.”

Jessie J is currently working on her sophomore release. The Voice UK judge will be teaming up with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah for the album, which has big shoes to fill after her 2011 debut Who You Are smashed airwaves everywhere.
