Big Day Out Teams Up With Bandaged Bear

With literally a matter of hours between now and the Big Day Out 2013 lineup announcement, BDO have gone public with a recent partnership with Bandaged Bear and The Westmead Children’s Hospital.

BDO have granted unlimited use of their brand and trademark to The Children’s Hospital’s at Westmead as partners, so their first official act of business will be the Bandaged Bear’s Big Day Out, held on September 9 at Sydney’s Luna Park. The exclusive partnership is expected to see the event grow rapidly as they source new ideas and concepts for the entertainment program aimed at 14-15 year-old kids. In the coming year, there will be more charity events put on by the two with the intention of each year being bigger than the last.

Carol Kavurma, Acting Head of Fundraising, has commented on the team-up, stating “We are excited to have found such a passionate, motivated and engaged partner in the team at Big Day Out, their expertise in working with the best entertainment in Australia and from around the world, as well as their event production excellence, will be of great benefit.”

“This partnership will hopefully see us raise much needed funds for the hospital in coming years,” said Ms Kavurma.

BDO will be dropping the lineup for the 2013 instalment withing the next few hours and the organisers are also expected to reveal some very special fundraising activities involving bands and fans to coincide with the big event.

Big Day Out CEO Adam Zammit commented: “Its easy to take for granted the joy of music, spectacle and scale when you are young, fit and healthy. We want to make the most of our experience, relationships and skills to help The Children’s Hospital at Westmead ensure every sick child is given every chance to find themselves fit and healthy and immersed in a Big Day Out one day.”

Big Day Out creator Ken West also explained: “We are very proud and excited to be starting this relationship with the Children’s Hospital and hope it brings great benefit in years to come.”
