Amy Winehouse The Next Hologram?

Love the idea, or hate it: either way it’s looking as though the next time we will see Amy Winehouse will be on stage, though she will be a lot more see-through and digitally enhanced than usual.

This whole hologram technology has caught on like wildfire, with suggestions and estate executives coming out of the woodwork to have their time with the programming that brought Tupac back from the grave for Coachella. In a very recent interview with UK’s The Sun, Winehouse’s father, Mitch, has explained that it’s something he’s really considering.

“The most important thing to Amy was the music and I’m sure a lot of people would like to hear her sing again. It depends on what Amy’s fans want as a way to keep her memory alive. If it’s a book, an album or a hologram, then so be it.”

Since the untimely passing of his daughter, Mitch has really been in the fan’s corner by seeing to the completion of a handful of posthumous albums featuring unheard collaborations with the jazzy blues croonstress (that’s not a real word but it sure is a fun one).

Mr. Winehouse has also established a charity to help those who are disadvantaged and suffer from the same demons as his daughter, that is, drug and alcohol abuse. The charity will be having an event in the departed singer’s honour, though it’s unsure whether or not the hologram will be shown then. Mitch, however, will not be seeing the illusion when/if it does come to fruition, telling the magazine: “I can’t watch Amy on TV or listen to her songs, it’s really difficult,” he said.

The hologram technology that the whole world is buzzing about is currently right here in Australia with the creator bringing it Down Under for a small demo to a lucky few on-lookers.
