Passion Pit Cancel Tour Dates, Parklife 2012 Remains Unaffected

Passion Pit’s new LP Gossamer is almost upon us. The band’s second studio album is all set for release next week on Tuesday, July 24. As per the norm, Passion Pit were just about to embark on a prolonged national and international tour to celebrate and promote the new record, but now the band has announced the cancellation of the first 6 dates of their Stateside tour.

To announce the show’s cancellations, Passion Pit vocalist Michael Angelakos posted an official statement (included below) on the band’s Facebook page and website, declaring that he is currently suffering from undisclosed mental health problems that need addressing before the band can venture out on their extended tour.

As noted in Angelakos’ statement, fans can check out Passion Pit’s current tour schedule to see which dates have been affected. Looking at the dates, it appears that Australian fans can still anticipate the band arriving in Australia to perform as part of Parklife 2012.

Passion Pit recently made a Gold Fields’ remix of their latest single Take a Walk, available for free download. You can listen to the remix below.

Music Feeds wishes Michael and Passion Pit all the best and a quick recovery.
