Meredith 2012 Lineup First Two Acts – Ticket Ballot Now Open

Aunty Meredith is back again for another year, with the first acts being announced this morning. 24-year-old Canadian synth-popper Grimes will be appearing at the festival, after she revealed that she would be visiting us some time later this year, ruling out festivals such as Parklife and the BDO. The other act confirmed is Aussie legend post-punkers Sunnyboys, who will be playing their first Victorian show with all four original members in 21 years.

Update 14/08: Meredith Music Festival 2012 line up has been announced

The official dates for the 2012 instalment of the festival are December 7, 8 and 9. Last year we saw Grinderman play their last ever show at the festival during a lunar eclipse, so the organisers will have to come up with something extra special in 2012 to try and top that. 2012 will be Meredith’s 22nd year, making them one of Australia’s longest-running music festivals. The full lineup will be announced mid-August.

As usual, the Subscriber Ticket Ballot is open to ensure the majority of the tickets are firstly allocated to subscribers, before the rest go on public sale. There will be two rounds of The Ballot – on or before August 15th for existing subscribers and August 23rd for newer subscribers. Ballot-winners will be emailed a unique Meredith Key to access the secure Online Box Office and purchase tickets. The price is the same as in previous years: 3 days and 2 nights for $279 +bf.
