One of Australia’s most prolific storytellers Clare Bowditch has announced a series of tour dates in support of her upcoming release The Winter I Chose Happiness.
The album has a release date of September 14. Much as you’d expect from a Bowditch release, the album will be a vindictive internal look inside the vast emptiness that is in all of us, referring to times we speak to ourselves without knowing if it’s true or not, and those times we just straight out lie to ourselves. Yeah, it’s a loaded release but we know and trust Clare will have these themes guided by the same enchanting melodic swells and vibrant textures we are so used to.
The first glimpse of the new material came in the form of a sync on Channel 10’s current ratings gem Offspring. The track You Make Me Happy debuted on the program alongside Clare herself, who made a guest appearance, stating, “Who knew I could act? Certainly not me! Getting that role was one of the biggest shocks of my life!”
The tour dates are expected to be “hilarious, heart-felt, one-off events, full of new songs and the kinds of stories that only Clare can tell.” Sounds like a great vibe to get in on.
