Listen: Crystal Castles New Track ‘Plague’ – Third Album Out In September, 2012

Ten hours ago Canadian electro duo Crystal Castles posted a link on the band’s Facebook page to a new track titled Plague, which is available for free download. As noted by NME, Plague will be a part of Crystal Castles upcoming as-yet-to-be titled third record, due out in late September.

When speaking to NME about the follow-up to 2010’s ‘II’ (which is currently being mixed in London after work concluded in Warsaw, Poland) Crystal Castle’s Ethan Kath assured that fans can expect all the traits they’ve come to love about the duo’s music.

“There’s no departure. We like how we sound. We don’t wanna change,” Kath told NME.

His partner in musical creation Alice Glass added that the themes of the new record are influenced by her growing disillusionment with humanity on a global scale.

“There’s lots of themes, but feeling, like, oppressed… A lot of things not personally happening to us, since the past record, but people we know kind of profoundly influenced everything. Like, I didn’t think I could lose faith in humanity any more than I already had, but after witnessing some things, it just … the world is a dystopia. I’m one step away from being a vigilante. I’ve thought about it,” explained Glass.
