Listen: The Presets Debut New Single ‘Ghosts’

With a headlining slot at Parklife 2012 and a brand new album on the horizon, The Presets debuted their latest offering Ghosts. Set to feature on the forthcoming Pacifica album, Ghosts was previewed on triple j just this afternoon.

The single follows in the footsteps of the first taste fans got of the album, Youth in Trouble. Both releases have seen the duo return to their peak form, making chanty, bass-driven music that’s as infections as ever. Ghosts is a move towards the more mellow end of the spectrum, but you’ll soon find yourself bopping quite furiously as it escalates.

Of Ghosts, Kim Moyes (half of the creative powerhouse) stated: “When Julian played me his initial sketch of this song, it utterly blew my mind, taking a classic folk-style sea shanty and adding it to an up-tempo techno groove was just genius to my ears”.

Pacifica will hit shelves September 7, just in time for fans to learn the words for The Presets run of Parklife dates. For the diehards, the album is up for pre-order through iTunes and for the even more diehards, The Presets will be releasing a Limited Edition Deluxe version of Pacifica. Limited to 1,500 copies worldwide, it comes housed in a 12″ case with a lenticular cover, the album in three formats (CD, vinyl and MP3 Download), a hard cover book (featuring expanded artwork) and a signed and numbered lithograph.
