Corey Taylor Happy Randy Blythe Has Returned Home

Among the family, friends and fans that were elated to hear the news that Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe was finally released from imprisonment in Prague after being arrested on charges of manslaughter back in June, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor has made his relief public while talking with Rolling Stone.

“Randy’s been a good friend of mine for a really long time, and it was killing me, being a friend and being in this position in the industry and whatnot, there wasn’t a lot we could for him… We were kind of running all over hell and back trying to figure out if there was anything we could do for him, not just because of the Knotfest show, but because he was our bro,” Taylor told Rolling Stone.

Knotfest is a new festival curated by Slipknot and will take place later this month. Lamb of God’s scheduled appearance hung in the balance while Blythe was incarcerated and looked very much in jeopardy as confusion arose after Blythe remained in prison even after posting bail.

For Taylor, however, the festival was secondary to Blythe’s well-being, even after the Lamb of God singer returned home.

“Even if he landed and he said that he didn’t want to do the shows, I would still be so happy that he’s home… He’s out of that prison, he’s back with his family and I’ll get to see him, hopefully soon. The fact that Lamb of God is going to play Knotfest is icing on the cake for me,” explained Taylor.

Although relieved now, Taylor was frustrated at the lack of support he could offer while Blythe was behind bars. Taylor did tell Rolling Stone that, although he felt helpless, he was impressed with the support he saw offered from concerned fans.

“It sucks feeling powerless like that and really wanting to just do everything you can, but you don’t know what that thing is,” Taylor expressed. “I’m really proud of the metal fans for giving their support and doing everything they can to get the word out and get as much focus on that situation as possible… I’m really proud of them for that and sticking with it, and it’s paid off.”
