New Aussie Label: Trusty Chords Music

Trusty Chords Music is the brain child of Lachlan Hodgson. Lachlan spent most of the 1990’s playing in the Australian punk and hardcore scenes in bands such as Caustic Soda, Mindsnare and Blueline Medic Since finishing up with Blueline Medic in the year 2000 Lachlan’s involvement in the music industry has been sporadic up until 2 years ago where he organised the benefit show – From Melbourne To Callum – raising thousands of dollars for the son of US producer – J Robbins – who was born with Type 1 SMA. The show featured Paul Dempsey, Blueline Medic, A Death In The Family and Lead Sketch Union. The show went so well Lachlan had bands approach him to help them organise shows and represent them.

Trusty Chords Music began then as a casual agency/management venture and has progressively built up to where it is now working with Lead Sketch Union, Coue Method, Ribbons, Patterns, Kill Whitey, Black Is The Colour and booking the venue – Baby Black Espresso Bar in the regional town of Bacchus Marsh. 2009 sees Lachlan join his musical passion and his business knowledge (he’s currently studying a Masters in Business Administration) to incorporate a record label under the same name.

The first release for the label will come in the form of the Debut EP for Melbourne singer/songwriter Black Is The Colour (AKA Steve Milligan) titled ‘Black Is The Colour’. The EP will hit stores in early Novemeber 2009.

Trusty Chords Music will be proudly distributed throughout Australia and New Zealand by Poison City Records and will have digital distribution confirmed in the following months.
