Listen: Soundgarden Name Album ‘King Animal’ And Release Teaser Track

Last week Music Feeds reported that the hotly anticipated new record from 90’s grunge act Soundgarden will be released on November 13. Now fans can put a name to what will be the 6th studio album from Soundgarden and the first LP from the band since 1996’s Down on the Upside.

King Animal will be the name of the forthcoming record that reportedly features unreleased material that predates Soundgarden’s 1988 debut Ultramega OK. If this is indeed the case, it certainly adds credence to the claims by Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil that King Animal reaffirms the band’s popular sound.

“It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird,” Thayil told Rolling Stone, according to Blabbermouth.

Fortunately, Soundgarden is happy to put their music where their mouth is by releasing a 36-second teaser for new, possibly really old, track Worse Dreams. Loudwire says the teaser shows that Soundgarden haven’t forgotten their roots and should serve to quell the fears of fans who worried that Live to Rise from The Avengers soundtrack was a sign of things to come.

Check out the preview for Worse Dreams and let Music Feeds know what you think…
