The Paper Scissors To Call It Quits After Two More Shows

One of Sydney’s most loved-up indie rock outfits The Paper Scissors have announced today that their show tonight at the Jurassic Lounge will in fact be the band’s second last gig ever.

The band took to Twitter to make the announcement to their loyal fan base, who have been glued to the trio since their 2006 inception with The Paper Scissors EP. Contained on that release was of course the mega hit We Don’t Walk, which saw the gaze of music fans world wide shift to the then burgeoning group.

Throughout the years, The Paper Scissors earned a reputation for composing unique, real music. Perfectly worded tunes stole the hearts and minds of kids literally everywhere. It didn’t take long for the band to break the international stage in 2011, following the overwhelmingly positive reception of the album In Loving Memory, which smashed charts here, and in the US and UK.

In more recent times, the band released an EP at the start of the year, continuing in the post-indie rock/indie soul vein we had grown to know from the lads. No reason has been given as to why they are throwing in the towel, but that is sure to come soon.

So in the words of the band ‘avoid disappointment’ and be sure to check them out tonight at the Jurassic Lounge in Sydney. Check out Feed’s sweet farewell to The Paper Scissors below, our favorite tune from the lads Lung Sum.
