AC/DC ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top’ Enters Australia’s National Registry Of Recorded Sound

Triple M has reported that Aussie rock legends AC/DC have been honoured by having their iconic 1975 single It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock and Roll) included into Australia’s National Registry of Recorded Sound. The induction was made public yesterday when announced by the federal Arts Minister, Simon Crean.

A copy of AC/DC’s It’s a Long Way to the Top… will be safely stored in the national Film & Sound Archive alongside ten other local tracks that were selected by a panel of ‘music experts’ to represent Australian Music.

As noted by Triple M, It’s a Long Way to the Top… was written by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young along with the band’s deceased singer Bon Scott and is the opening track on the 1975 AC/DC record T.N.T.
