Isle Of Wight’s ‘Bestival’ To Be Streamed Live On YouTube

Not going along to the UK’s Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight next weekend?  No worries: YouTube is coming to the rescue.

Following in the footsteps of Coachella in the US earlier this year, the festival is going to be the first music festival in the UK to be streamed live on YouTube as it takes place.

The Sun reports that fans will be able to watch the acts live online and for 90 days afterwards via the Bestival TV YouTube channel.

Bestival organiser and BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank said he was enticed by the opportunity to share festival action to as many punters as possible through different mediums.

“I’ve been watching festivals on YouTube and loving the futuristic new angle on showing festivals in a different light via a medium that nearly everyone in music is tuned in to.”

Bestival director Ben Turner added: “We believe it’s an important step forward for music coverage overall.”

Bestival will be headlined by Florence + The Machine, Stevie Wonder and New Order.  Other big acts on the bill include The XX, Friendly Fires, Two Door Cinema Club and Emeli Sandé.
