Flying Lotus Confirms Collaboration With Beck

Collaborations are without a doubt the new thing and when some of the biggest names in music are running around leaving their fingerprints on tracks here and there, it’s really not such a bad thing. Beck has been notorious for this of late, as has Flying Lotus, and it shouldn’t come as a shock to hear that they too will be combining musical powers.

Though it won’t be a surprise, it will still be just so awesome. Flying Lotus, in an interview with Drowned In Sound (Via Pitchfork), also seemed pretty chuffed on the idea, “He hit me up after the last record and wanted to do something. It sounds like Can but fucked up. It’s really quite dark.” Though that’s about as far as information goes on the track. If you consider the well-known musical integrity of both parties, it’s sure to be a massive track.

I have a feeling we can expect something not too different from Beck’s recent collaboration with prodigal rapper Childish Gambino on his album Royalty for the track Silk Pillow, which you can check out below (Thank me later).

The track is looking good to feature on FlyLo’s 2012 album Until the Quiet Comes, which will also feature team-ups with Thom Yorke, Erykah Badu and more. The album will be released October 1, a little bit before Becks sheet music album Beck Hansen’s Song Reader, which is expected to drop December. We also snaked a cool little doco on FLyLo from Pitchfork, which is below.
