Currently touring through North America with genre buddy Missy Higgins, Butterfly Boucher has today announced to fans that she will be seeing out the year with a string of headlining shows throughout Australia, not to mention a brand spankin’ new single.
No Fooling Around, set to be released October 26, is a track that the fans inadvertently chose themselves. According to Boucher, “No Fooling Around might be one of the trickiest songs for me to recreate live, especially when I’m just playing solo! But at my recent Melbourne show, without any prompting, the audience backed me up, singing the song with me from top to bottom. I was blown away,” she says. “After that experience it seemed like a no-brainer to make it my next single… the fans have spoken!”
Described as a synth-heavy dance song meets film-score peppered with playfully mischievous lyrics, the track follows hot on the heels of her previous hit 5678! It was with that tune that her fanbase proved their support. Following an online invitation from the songstress, fans submitted 20-second clips of themselves busting moves to 5678! All the footage was then compiled and used for a video and leaving Boucher “incredibly inspiring to see the lengths people went to to join in the fun.”
After the single has been safely released and tour dates wrapped up, Butterfly will be rejoining Higgins on the road as bassist and back-up vocalist to cap off the year-long tour of Higgins’ highly acclaimed, Boucher-produced album The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle.
