The Killers New Album ‘Battle Born’ Drawing Close

The four-year wait between albums is just about at an end with indie rock heavyweights The Killers all set to release their fourth studio record Battle Born, due out mid September. Earlier in the year The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers told BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that with Battle Born the band sought to play to their strengths while still striving for a departure from previous releases.

“I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we’ve done well and really hone in on that… We don’t want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam’s Town 2, or Day & Age 2,″ Flowers told Lowe

Whether or not lead single Runaways is an innovative track for the band is debatable but there seems little argument from fans that The Killers are back to their best. Music Feeds’ readers are gushing with praise over the new single, with one fan posting, “The Killers are back!!!!!!!!!!! Brandon Flowers’ my hero!”

In July The Killers debuted three new songs that are set to appear on Battle Born, playing Miss Atomic Bomb, The Rising Tide and Flesh and Bone during an intimate show in Asheville, North Carolina. More recently The Killers revealed the tracklist for the forthcoming album and covered Oasis during their headlining set at the recently passed V Festival.

All in all The Killers have been building plenty of momentum in the lead-up to Battle Born, and the soon-to-be released record could see the Vegas quartet back on top of the indie world.
