Travis Barker And Yelawolf Prepare Collaboration EP, Single Coming Next Week

Blink 182‘s Travis Barker has announced today that the long-talked-about EP starring himself and Eminem’s hip hop protege Yelawolf is coming very soon, with more and more details being released this week.

Taking to Twitter, the drum king announced that in the next couple of days they will be unveiling album art, the EP cover, as well as the first single off the Psycho White EP.

The pair have been gigging together fairly hard recently, with Barker picking up the sticks in support of Yelawolf during his past few shows. If their love for punk rock, hip hop, or throat and head tattoos wasn’t enough to draw the two together in the studio, their partnership with Famous Stars & Straps was.

The EP, which is said to feature Tim Armstrong of Rancid, caused Yela to put his sophomore full-length album Love Story on the back burner, but he has assured fans that it will now be his paramount project, once the EP is all wrapped up. The rapper also commented on the creative process behind the release, telling Billboard that “Every time we would get in the lab we’d knock something out. We just collaborated and… had a meeting of the minds. There’s a lot of cool stuff we came up with.”

There have also been talks about releasing the 5-tracker for free, as Yelawolf explains: “I don’t know Travis’ situation fully, the legals of it, whether it’s going to be free or sold or whatever. It’ll be available. As artists, hopefully we can get it on the shelves, but we’ll get it out there somehow. I’m just hyped for people to hear it.”

So stay tuned for more updates from Travis. You can also count down the days between now, and when he’s in town with none other than THE Blink 182 for Soundwave.
