Noel Gallagher Ends Oasis Reunion Rumours “It’s Not What I Do”

Say what you will about Noel Gallagher, but the dude knows how to call a spade a spade. In a recent interview, the rock icon has once and for all put to bed rumours that Oasis would be reuniting for a world tour in 2015.

2015 will mark the 20th birthday of the group’s legendary album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? And for fans, that was enough for them to get excited about a potential reunion tour to mark the milestone. However, Gallagher, not one to mince words, has a different opinion: “Not even if all the starving children in the world depended on it.”

Gallagher has always conflicted with his previous band members, and events that followed the band’s dismemberment only made things worse. “Well, he shouldn’t have fucking tried to sue me, should he?” Noel added when speaking to Nation Radio’s Chris Blumer in regards to the tour rumours, speaking of course about his brother Liam Gallagher.

It really is the norm these days for hugely influential 90’s outfits to regroup and tour, often recording new material. The practice has copped a lot of grief from important figures who see this as a last desperate attempt for the outdated musicians to syphon whatever cash may be left from their career, and Gallager feels somewhat the same, according to Live4Ever UK:

“I know it’s the done thing these days and what people do but it’s not what I do. I can understand bands reforming and they’re bigger than they ever were and more successful – we couldn’t be more successful than we ever were; we were one of the five biggest bands in the world at any given time and the biggest thing to come out of England in 35 years so what would we be doing it for? For the fans? No-one ever gave a shit about the fans in that band. So it’s done, it’s done.”

So there you have it. Either Noel Gallagher is being Noel Gallagher and shattering Oasis’s fan’s hopes, or Noel Gallagher is being Noel Gallagher and just messing with Oasis’s fans. What do you think?
