Major Lazer’s New Record ‘Free The Universe’ Pushed Back ‘Til 2013

A major blow for Major Lazer fans as Consequence of Sound have reported that the release date for highly anticipated sophomore record Free the Universe has been pushed back all the way into 2013. According to Complex, Free the Universe, which was due out November 6, 2012, now won’t be up for grabs until February 19, 2013.

Neither site has given a reason for the delay, but it’s safe to say that fans will be disappointed and for now will have to continue to make do with the killer Major Lazer single Get Free. As Music Feeds has previously reported, Major Lazer is now spearheaded by famed producer Diplo, with fellow producer/DJ Switch no longer attached to the project on a permanent basis.

When Free the Universe finally does come out next year, it is set to have a bevy of special guests, including Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, Wyclef Jean, and Amber Coffman of The Dirty Projectors, who sings on the aforementioned single, Get Free.
