Soundgarden ‘King Animal’ Album Cover Revealed + Trailer

The wheels on the new Soundgarden album appear to be in full motion now with an album cover and teaser trailer appearing online today. The new album, titled King Animal, has had its release date pushed back further and further throughout this year, but it was finally settled to be November 13th.

King Animal will reportedly feature unreleased material that predates Soundgarden’s 1988 debut Ultramega OK. If this is indeed the case, it certainly adds credence to the claims by Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil that King Animal reaffirms the band’s popular sound.

“It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird,” Thayil told Rolling Stone, according to Blabbermouth.

Fortunately, Soundgarden is happy to put their music where their mouth is by releasing a 36-second teaser for a track last month, which is possibly a really old, track titled Worse Dreams. By the sounds of it Soundgarden haven’t forgotten their roots and should serve to quell the fears of fans who worried that Live to Rise from The Avengers soundtrack was a sign of things to come.
