Here at Music Feeds, we sure do get a kick out of reporting on the latest idiotic blunders of Chris Brown, but much like our bros over Aux.Tv, we’d be much happier to never have to report on the dude again.
Now, Aux have done something about it. The music blog have developed an app known as Brownout that will effectively and seamlessly remove all references to Brown, both his name and his image, from the entire web. The app will operate like Google Chrome but with one key difference, no friggin Chris Brown.
Aux online producer Sam Sutherland spoke to CBS stating: “If he wants to get a tattoo on his neck that kind of looks like Rihanna, we are going to write about it. But at some point, it reaches Chris Brown idiocy saturation…All we had to do is build a frame where it recognises the word and ignores it and literally erases it. You can see everything except his name and his face.”
Last year the company launched a similar application Nickelblock. Genius. But back to Chris Brown, I’m guessing the final straw would have been the neck tattoo, which looks a little too similar to a battered Rihanna for it to be just a coincidence, despite claims from Brown’s people that it isn’t her.
Brown’s constant douchebaggery has seen him become somewhat of a public enemy. And not the good kind – the kind who get their albums stickered with warnings not to buy it and support a woman beater. It’s a protest that may have backfired according to a spokesperson from HMV who stated: “I guess they got their point across pretty effectively – with widespread coverage around the world, though, by the same token, quite a few more people now know there’s a new Chris Brown album out.” We just can’t win!
So while Brown remains silent on all fronts, except the one we want him to be silent on (singing), I would sure love to be a fly on the wall when he has to explain to record label execs why no one is buying his albums anymore.
