Listen: Crystal Castles Name New Album ‘(III)’ Release New Track ‘Wrath Of God’

Canadian electro duo Ethan Kath and Alice Glass aka Crystal Castles have now officially announced their new album – which has been given the title (III) – along with the album cover art. A new track has also been released along with the announcement, Wrath of God, which follows up on the first single titled Plague. The expected release date is still set for November.

“We wanted the new album to sound like a completely different and new experience,” says Ethan Kath in a statement released today, “we’d limit ourselves to one take on each song because we believe the first take is the rawest expression of an idea.”

Kath also spoke to NME recently about the follow-up to 2010′s (II) assuring that fans can expect all the traits they’ve come to love about the duo’s music. “There’s no departure. We like how we sound. We don’t wanna change,” the other half of the duo Alice Glass adds, “There’s lots of themes, but feeling, like, oppressed… A lot of things not personally happening to us, since the past record, but people we know kind of profoundly influenced everything. Like, I didn’t think I could lose faith in humanity any more than I already had, but after witnessing some things, it just … the world is a dystopia. I’m one step away from being a vigilante. I’ve thought about it,” explained Glass.
