Bob Mould ‘Copper Blue’ Tour Australia March 2013

The un-disputed godfather of underground rock, Bob Mould, will return to Australia in March next year to perform the powerful and ever-fresh debut album Copper Blue, written and co-produced by Bob Mould when he formed the band Sugar. The album has been described as one of the most important releases of the 90s and has influenced the sound and attitude of the indie scene ever since.

The album draws on the punk of Mould’s former group Hüsker Dü, but tempers it with prominent melodies and mature writing. Copper Blue uses the classic three-piece set-up of frontman vocalist/guitarist, bass player and drummer, but adds some flavour of a synthesizer, a touch of harpsichord, and a fistful of bite.

In total it spawned four singles – Changes, Helpless, A Good Idea and If I Can’t Change Your Mind – and the ever-classic Hoover Dam. Mould still seems surprised by its success, saying: “I got lucky, it’s one of those records that sounds like it’s 20 years old; it sounds like it’s 50 years old; it sounds like it was made last week.”

Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday, 17th October at $49 + booking fee. All tickets will be available from http://www.metropolistouring.com and the related venues.
