Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor Writing A Cookbook

Grizzly Bear bass player Chris Taylor is getting his MasterChef on by writing a cookbook away from his commitments with the band. Taylor, who also has a solo project called CANT, is apparently writing the book for publishing company Random House.

NME and Pitchfork reports that Taylor is writing the book in a rented house in the woodlands near Germantown, New York, in between touring commitments.

Speaking to SPIN magazine about his culinary project, Taylor has said that the cookbook will be “seasonally relevant”, and is inspired by his love of throwing dinner parties for family and friends.

“It doesn’t have a title yet, but at the moment it’s 20 dinners, fully coursed, all seasonally relevant,” he said. “I think a lot of people open a cookbook and they’re like, ‘Where do I start?’ And this is just like: ‘make this dinner’. It’s making cooking approachable for people in a different way. I love throwing dinner parties. I used to have a fire pit until I got the cops called on me.”

Grizzly Bear will be jet-setting it to our shores, very soon to appear on the Harvest Festival 2012 lineup as well as their own tour dates.
