Future Music Festival 2013: just reading the name brings back some of the most fond memories in us all. Fast tracked to become an Australian live music institution, Future has become a stable festival, a mecca for those who have just turned 18, and a haven for seasoned festival goers. It’s now time for it to all happen once again with today bringing the official lineup announcement.

International heavyweights is the motif of the festival, which, while putting a strong emphasis on EDM and other electronic forms of music, still maintains a heavy element of indie and rock. Fatboy Slim, Franz Ferdinand, Basement Jaxx, Swedish House Marfia, and The Presets, are just a few of the massive names that have appeared in big font on the festival posters over the years, which is testament to the festival’s pulling power, and its ability to deliver what the fans want.
Given the stiff competition festivals get these days, it almost gives goosebumps thinking about which artists the masterminds behind Future have been in cahoots with, and which of the current buzzworthy artists have made the cut. We’ve only minutes left to wait and I can promise you now, ya’ll in for a massive treat.
