The Rolling Stones To Release New Single ‘Doom and Gloom’ This Week

The Rolling Stones will be releasing their new single Doom and Gloom at the end of this week, first being played as a world exclusive on BBC Radio 2 at 8:15am BST (or 6:15pm AEDT) before being released on iTunes shortly after.

The new single will mark the first time that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood have entered the studio together since 2005. The track is taken from the forthcoming ‘best of’ album titled GRRR!, recording it in Paris by longtime Rolling Stones producer Don Was (Was produced five previous albums: Voodoo Lounge, Stripped, Bridges To Babylon, Live Licks, and A Bigger Bang).

GRRR! will also boast 50 tracks over three discs spanning across the Stones’ entire career, and is set for Australian release on 9th November. There will also be a special deluxe box set edition with over 80 songs on offer. All GRRR! formats will feature a striking painting by award-winning American artist Walton Ford, who has created the latest in a long line of iconic artwork that has always been part of the band’s DNA.

As far as shows go, it’s been a little on-and-off in terms of whether we’ll see this iconic band ever hit Australian shores. Keith Richards recently let slip that they would be doing shows in New York and London, which previously was thought to be linked with Australian promoter Paul Dainty, who will be working with Richard Branson to organise the shows.
