Listen: Redcoats Stream Entire Debut Album

After spending a serious percentage of the past year hauled up in a studio, located roughly between the middle of nowhere and the valley’s Grampians National Park, Melbourne’s Redcoats are now gearing up to release their self titled debut album.

The album aptly maps the course of a band determined to forge their own sound in the world of rock, rather than syphon off others. The epic vocals, the dancing guitar and bass, and the drums that reverberate through your whole rib cage seem to grapple with eachother in a totally flawless way, resulting in the sound of a band who meticulously know what they’re doing.

The first signs of life to come from the Redcoat’s dwelling all those many miles away came in the form of Raven: a great analogy for the rest of the album, though perhaps it tilts more towards the darker side of what Roadcoats are all about. Raven was the first official single from the release and was wildly successful in terms of pricking up ears in anticipation for the full-length.

The recording process saw the boys enter the mind of Dave Schiffman, who made the trek down from the US to team up with the band. Already on Schiffman’s resume are names that have previously worked on albums for Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers & The Mars Volta and now our very own Redcoats.

The album is officially released through Universal on October 19, but we are pleased to announce that we have the full stream below. Check it out and let us know what you think. Happy listening!
