Listen: Mayday Parade Feat. Vic Fuentes Cover Gotye On Punk Goes Pop 5

Fearless Records are gearing up to release the 5th instalment in the bigger-than-ever Punk Goes Pop franchise. One of the first samples of what we can expect from the release is now available for all to check out.

Pop punk heroes Mayday Parade (who will be touring Australia in the not-too-distant-future) have teamed up with Piece the Veil (coming down for Soundwave) vocalist Vic Fuentes for their rendition of Gotye and Kimbra’s mega hit Somebody That I Use to Know. Out of all the covers done of this particular track, I’d say Mayday Parade’s version has to take the cake. You can watch the lyric video below.

Fans can also expect to see names such as Memphis May Fire, The Maine, Craig Owens and Forever the Sickest Kids all covering tunes that have woven themselves into recent (and usually short-term) popular culture with the occasional tip of the hat to hits of yesteryear… Previously released from the forthcoming album was Upon This Dawning’s cover of Call Me Maybe, which is, well…I’ll let you make up your own mind on that one.

We won’t see the album in stores (either digital or physical) until November 6, but a pre-order option is available. Check out the full tracklisting beneath the clip and see which cover has you the most excited.
