Ringo Starr To Tour Australia In Early 2013

Ringo Starr will return to Australia for the first time since touring with the Beatles in 1964. Of course this time he won’t be joined by his three former Liverpudlian bandmates, but instead with his “All Starr band” made up of various members of groups including Toto, Journey, Santana, Mr Mister, Peter Gabriel, and Todd Rundgren.

Actual Australian tour dates have not been announced, but he has already locked in dates for New Zealand and Japan around the beginning and end of February, so we could easily guess that the dates will fall during the middle part of the month.

Speaking about returning to our side of the world, Ringo said: “The tour (in the US) this summer was just great. I love playing with this band and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again. I am looking forward to revisiting Japan with the All Starrs, and of course New Zealand and Australia. Peace & Love!”

In what is described as being a two-hour long retrospective of his career, we’ll hear all of his classic Beatle and solo hits such as Don’t Come Easy, Photograph, Little Help From My Friends, Yellow Submarine and Wings from his recent solo album Ringo 2012.

We’ll keep an eye out for Australian dates to be announced soon.
