Watch: Muse Kick Off World Tour With ‘Insane’ New Live Show

Muse have kicked off their World Tour overnight with a gig that by all accounts seems pretty unforgettable. Road testing tunes from their new album The 2nd Law, fans are dishing out nothing but praise for not just the performance, but also the setlist.

The band, who played in Montpellier, France put together a show using tracks from recent material, as well as gems from over the years. One particular gem was Falling Down. Featured on the group’s debut ShowBiz, the track hasn’t been played live since 2000 and was obviously met with outrageous approval from the fans. Madness, Survival and Supremacy also made the cut.

As for the visual display, well who better to describe it than Matt Bellamy himself, telling NME “It’s basically an upside-down pyramid which is a very symbolic gesture. A lot of people think the pyramid represents power structures, you know, in every walk of life. Anything from basic corporate structures with a top down system where CEOs take all the profit and get paid more than the people at the bottom, which is the kind of down to earth version, to the Illuminati, you know…he pyramid seems to represent the power structures of the world. Turning it upside down is a gesture as to what we think of that. ”

The interview also came with a photo of the setlist, which you can check out below, as well as a video of all the madness. There’s still no official word on when its our turn, it could be 2014, it could even be 2013, but I want it now!
